Purpose
The Back Country 4X4 Club is for the whole Family.It is a non-profit and non-competitive organization open to all types of four-wheel drive street legal vehicles.
-- To enjoy safely the outdoors by exploring trails all over the province and may include Camping, Photos,Fishingexcursions,BBQs etc.
-- To promote four-wheeling as a safe responsible activity.
-- To respect the environment and existing trails by following the 'Tread Lightly' principles.
-- To promote edecation about map reading,GPS use and other related fields
Vehicle Requirements
-- All vehicle makes and models are accepted (Sorry, no ATVs)
-- Vehicles must have one tow hook front and one on rear.
-- A C.B. radio or GMRS,FRS radio is not essential but preferred optional equipment.
-- The club reserves the right to bar a member from attending an event in which the executive have a reasonable belief that the vehiche in question is not legal or is being driven in a illegal manner.
-- When Vehicle sold the club identification must be removed .
Joining the Club
-- To join the club, an applicant must fill out an application for membership and pay a non-refundable fee, the amount to be set by the excutive of the club.
-- Applicants for membership must attend two (2) meetings - The annual and one other meeting must be attended, one (1) club trail ride within a twelve (12) month period before they are eligible to be voted upon for membership. A trail ride consists of any off road excursion attended be no less than three club members.
-- After an applicant has applied for current member status, a vote will be taken among the members who witnessed the applicant during meetings and trail rides as to whether the applicant should be made a current member or not.
-- Family Membership is $32.00 with the use of all family vehicles that meet club Charter approval.
Rules
-- Members are to keep their due payments up to date
-- Members are to adhere to the Tread Lightly guidelines during club events
-- Behavior which gives rise to a negative public image of the club, or the sport of 4X4 trail riding is strongly frowned upon.
-- The use of alcohol or illicit drugs prior to or during club events is strictly forbidden
-- Conduct which the club finds dangerous or offensive is prohibited and grounds for immediate dismissal from the event.
-- The use of a veicle on a trail event that the club deems to be illegal or is not properly equipped,or becomes unsafe is grounds to exclude the member from the event.
-- During an event all members must be accounted for at the end of the day. (No one left behind in the woods.)
Dissolving the Club
Should the club be dissolved, any funds remaining after all liabilities are met shall be donated to a charity such as the metro food bank.
